Barcelona midfielder Rafinha is undergoing a medical at Inter Milan ahead of a proposed January move.
Brazilian international Rafinha damaged his knee ligaments last season in the 4-1 win over Granada and has not featured for the current La Liga leaders since April in the league.
Having undergone various recovery methods, the youngster was deemed fully fit early in December but as expected – playing time is now hard to come by due to the form of Andres Iniesta, Ivan Rakitic and Paulinho.
Having scored eight goals last season under former boss Luis Enrique, it was expected that he would be given a chance by new boss Ernesto Valverde but just one appearance since returning from injury has seen him linked with a move.
Mundo Deportivo claimed last week that he would be willing to leave if his chances of playing are deemed unlikely and it was claimed that a bid from Inter Milan was rejected by the Catalan giants.
However, following a weekend of negotiations – the Italian club are now closing in on the signing with the midfielder jetting in for a medical.
Rafinha could now be signed and installed in Inter’s squad for their fixture against lowly Spal this weekend.
