La Liga have signed nine Saudi players, who will now be filtered out to seven clubs, which include Villarreal.
Each of the Saudi Arabian footballers will arrive on Spanish soil and begin training with their new sides, whilst the club’s who have opted to sign a player will be handed an incentive of €1m each, say reports.
La Liga trio Villarreal, Leganes and Levante have all been selected by the league’s governing body to install a player, whilst Sporting Gijon, Numancia, Rayo Vallecano and Real Valladolid from Segunda have been chosen.
Midfielder Salem Al Dawsari will join Villarreal, while Leganes signed forward Yahia Al-Shehri and Levante signed Fahad Al-Muwallad.
So, who are they?
Al Dawsari, who joins Villarreal has represented his country on 25 occasions, whilst playing club football for Al Ahli, making over 100 appearances. Capable of playing in a central midfield role, the 26-year-old can also play on either wing.
Leganes new boy Al-Shehri joins from Al Nassr, whom he played for 144 times. He also has international experience, playing up front for his country in no less than 41 games, scoring six goals.
And, finally, Fahad Al-Muwallad, who joins Levante is a winger who has international experience also, featuring 40 times for his country.
