Atletico Madrid and Las Palmas will face off in the Spanish capital on Sunday afternoon with mixed fortunes after surprising recent results.

Atleti drew their last league game at the Wanda 1-1 with Catalan minnows Girona which was sandwiched in between 2-1 and 3-1 defeats to Sevilla that saw them crash out of the Copa del Rey at the quarter final stage.

Las Palmas on the other hand will be full of confidence after last weekend’s 2-1 win over third placed Valencia helped them climb off the bottom of the table but will be up against it against Atleti despite their poor form.

The reverse fixture way back at the start of the season was a rout for Los Colchoneros as they slammed five past The Yellows without reply in Gran Canaria.

Diego Simeone’s three match touchline ban for his altercation with the match officials at Sevilla on Tuesday does not apply to La Liga so the Argentine will be able to take his place on the bench in the “Battle of the Suits” with Las Palmas boss Paco Jemez.

Predicted Line-Ups:

Atletico Madrid (4-4-2): Oblak; Juanfran, Gimenez, Godin, Lucas; Correa, Gabi, Saul, Koke; Griezmann, Costa
