Gerard Deulofeu is set to return to the Premier League with struggling Watford, according to reports in Spanish press.
The 23-year-old Spanish international has featured five times since returning to the Camp Nou last summer and his playing time is unlikely to improve following the arrival of both Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho.
Dembele has been out injured since joining in the summer of 2017, but Coutinho was hauled into the starting eleven against Alaves on Sunday evening, leaving Deulofeu’s chances slim of making an impact at the Catalan club.
Linked with a January exit, the former Everton man has been discussing a move with Italian duo AC Milan and Napoli, whilst Inter Milan have also been labelled with interest.
Whilst Serie A interest is rife, RAC1 and Mundo Deportivo have both claimed on Monday morning that Watford have initiated talks with Barcelona over an initial loan move.
Coached by Javi Gracia, the Premier League side are struggling for form and see Deulofeu as a positive attacking signing.
Although he has been assured he is in the plans of national team manager Julen Lopetegui, he has been told he must be playing regularly to be considered for the World Cup in the summer.
