Malaga have today announced the loan signing of striker Brown Ideye who has agreed a move from Chinese club Tianjin Teda until the end of the season.
The former West Bromwich Albion forward passed his medical on Wednesday but negotiations took longer than expected with the player’s numerous representatives.
The Nigerian, 29, whose move to China didn’t pay off, returns to Europe where he has had something of a nomadic career, representing the likes of Dinamo Kiev, Olympiakos and WBA.
The full international has scored six goals in his 28 caps for Nigeria.
Ideye is the latest of a number of signings, with Ignasi Miquel, Manuel Iturra, Alberto Bueno and Samuel García already signing up this window.
He may not be the last incoming player either. As deadline day draws closers, Malaga remain active on all fronts.
Sporting director Mario Husillos continues to assess his side’s options in midfield should moves for Esteban Rolón, Javi Ontiveros or Mula be found. Rolón has been attracting interest from his native Argentina, while Ontiveros and Mula have suiters in Segunda.
Malaga currently sit bottom of the table on 13 points.
