Medical tests have revealed that the player has suffered a muscle injury during Saturday’s match against Real Madrid and the winger could miss Valencia’s Copa del Rey tie against Barcelona.
Despite the positive vibes which went around the Valencia camp about Goncalo Guedes’ injury following the tests undertaken by the club’s doctors after the match against Real Madrid, the latest tests undertaken in Valencia’s Paterna camp show that the player has suffered a muscle injury on his right thigh.
Although Valencia does not rule him out of Thursday’s match against Barcelona, the club recognise that his participation will be complicated.
The 21 year old explosive winger had to be taken off during Valencia’s last game against Real Madrid and was replaced by Carlos Soler who made his first appearance since suffering an ankle injury in December.
Guedes who is playing for Valencia after joining on loan from Paris Saint German for the season is attracting the interest of Europe’s elite due to his impressive performances for Valencia since joining on loan.
The highlights of his season with Valencia will no doubt include his magical goals against Sevilla and Betis.
Although Valencia recognises the difficulty of making the winger’s stay in the club permanent. The club has not given up and has recently made a €40m offer to sign the winger permanently and are hopeful for a positive response from PSG.
