The Borrusia Dortmund centre back is set to make his return to La Liga through Andalusian club Real Betis as he prepares to join on loan from the Bundesliga.
The former Barcelona centre back who joined Dortmund in the summer of 2016 for a fee of €8 Million will joining Betis on loan till the end of the season and the deal will include a purchase option which the Andalusian’s are expected to activate. All that is remaining is for the player to undergo his medicals which are expected to be completed later today.
The move is considered as a logical one for Bartra who has failed to convince Dortmund coach Peter Stöger since the latter joined the club last summer, the centre back will be hoping to cement a starting spot under Betis coach Quique Setien as he eyes a spot in Julen Lopetegui’s list for next summer’s World Cup in Russia.
The 27 year old defender who is known to be good on the ball and posses decent aerial ability is a La Masia youth product and has featured in 59 league games with the Blaugrana and holds 13 caps for the Spanish National Team. Bartra was also a key member in the Spanish U-21 team that won the 2013 European U-21 Championships.
