Valencia have been considering signing their former loaned centre back Eliaquim Mangala during the winter transfer window, according to Superdeporte.
Unless the club changes its mind during the dying hours of the transfer window has discarded the option to sign the centre back as they have decided to prioritise signing a right back instead of a centre back.
Last week the knee injury of Gabriel Paulista had raised some alarms in the squad as Valencia feared that Gabriel would be joining Murillo for a lengthy spell on the sidelines and the club moved quickly to consider signing Mangala on another loan.
Valencia have raised the possibility to Manchester City who have also just signed another centre back in Ayremic Laporte which will make Mangala’s appearances with the club extremely limited.
However, Gabriels quick recovery and return to training with his teammates have lead Valencia to stop the operation and focus their attention on signing a right back. Many right back have been offered to the club especially after Inter refused Valencia’s request to recall him from his loan to the Italian club and Valencia are still working on the options on the table.
The arrival of a right back would mean that Valencia’s academy graduate Nacho Vidal will be leaving the club who has only started in the match against Girona this season and was replaced by centre back Ruben Vezo during the match.
