Sevilla have been interested in signing Croatian Midfielder Marcelo Brozovic and it was being reported that the Spanish side were going to sign him on loan for the remainder of the season and then purchase him for 28 million euros.
However according to reports in Italy the move has hit a stumbling block as Inter Milan manager Luciano Spalletti will not allow Brozovic to leave unless the club can find a replacement before the window shuts.
After completing the double loan signing of Roque Mesa and Sandro Ramirez yesterday Los Rojiblancos are hoping to get a deal done so they can mount a serious challenge either for fourth spot which is currently occupied by Real Madrid or a concrete place in the Europa League for next season.
This could be a deal that goes all the way down to the 5pm deadline as negotiations between both clubs will continue throughout the day.
The main problem it seems with this deal is that Inter Milan are trying to sign Javier Pastore fro PSG but the French side seem reluctant to sell the Argentine.
Sevilla manager Vincenzo Montella is said to have called Brozovic himself to convince him to join them, the players agent had been in Milan to get the deal done and if talks are to continue the decision would be down to the player.
It was said that earlier in the window that the player wanted to move to the premier league as apparently Arsenal and Everton were keen on signing him but neither side made a move for him so that’s when Sevilla stepped up their interest in him.
