Struggling Segunda side Cordoba have pulled off a major coup by signing ex-Sevilla man and Arsenal invincible Jose Antonio Reyes.
Reyes was recently at Espanyol but left the Catalans after a single season and is believed to have turned down a move to La Liga 1|2|3 high flyers Cadiz and chose Cordoba at the other end of the table.
Shanghai Shenhua in China and Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia both made offers to the player with the Chinese Super League side rumoured to have been close to sorting out a move earlier in the window but the two parties couldn’t agree on contract terms and he remained without a club.
Reyes played at boyhood club Sevilla over two spells as well as Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid as well as playing abroad with Arsenal and Benfica in what has been a busy career.
Cordoba are third bottom in La Liga 1|2|3 and are currently eight points from safety in the relegation zone with Almeria and Barcelona B ahead of them inside and outside the bottom four. They lost their most recent game which was a 1-0 defeat at La Romareda against thirteenth placed Zaragoza.
The Andalucian side have fallen on hard times having been in La Liga as recently as the 2014/15 season.
