Loic Remy’s late arrival at Getafe was not able to help the Madrid based side beat Leganes.
Both Getafe and Leganes have had relatively good seasons so far with the former producing some good results and sitting in 11th place; whilst the visitors are still in the Copa del Rey, holding Sevilla in their semi-final first leg.
This fixture was always going to be a tight affair, although with the visitors cup exploits – the favourites were deemed as favourites.
Chances were few and far between however, with the likes of Jorge Molina and Angel providing a goal threat for the home side, and Eraso producing some attacking moments for the away side.
With no goals in the first half, the home side looked to push even further in the second period, but even the introduction of new signing Loic Remy, signed from Las Palmas – was not enough to secure three points.
The game would end 0-0 with both sides keeping their mid-table status and whilst the visitors would be more the happier of the two sides; Getafe will be looking to prepare for their monster clash with Barcelona next Sunday afternoon at Camp Nou.
Leganes now prepare to face Sevilla in mid-week in that juicy second leg Copa tie.
