Antoine Griezmann halted playing for Atletico Madrid on Sunday evening to verbally argue with his own fans after largely being subject to criticism during the 1-0 win over Valencia.
The Frenchman’s future at the Wanda Metropolitano has come under heavy scrutiny of late, seeing him linked with a move to Manchester United or Barcelona.
The latter were forced to deny they had an agreement with the former Real Sociedad man last month, leaving Atleti fans in doubt over his commitment and desire to play for the club.
Griezmann has struggled for consistency this season, but is still widely regarded as one of the league’s and Europe’s top players.
Having come under pressure from home fans in the 1-0 win over Los Che on Sunday, the French international was booed when slowing down an attack to waste time.
His reaction to the objection from home fans was to silence them before an outburst which won’t go down well with club officials.

This summer will prove to be a vital one for Atleti and Griezmann, with Barca, Man United and potentially Real Madrid – all looking to make a formal enquiry.
