Reports across Spain claim David De Gea will leave Manchester United for Real Madrid this summer.
After missing out on young Athletic Club keeper Kepa, Madrid president Florentino Perez has taken his desire to sign a replacement for Keylor Navas to the next level.
Perez, who is keen to find a long term number one and to fit the mould of club legend Iker Casillas – is a fan favourite of De Gea, having watched him develop as a youngster at cross-city rivals Atletico Madrid.
The Spanish number one has been forever linked with a return to the Spanish capital with Madrid, but talks of a proposed move for Kepa over the winter period saw those links go silent.
However, a move could now be back on with Spanish reports claiming a deal is in discussion, prompting rumours that the Spaniard has agreed personal terms.
De Gea looked all set for a move to the Santiago Bernabeu in 2015, but a lack of paperwork saw the move fail.
The former Atletico Madrid man is reportedly on around £200k per week at Old Trafford, but would seemingly be interested in a move back to home town.
Furthermore, Madrid have also shown interest in Roma keeper Alisson, who has been impressing in Serie A.
