Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has informed his staff to hold off any talks over new players until after the Champions League clash with Paris Saint Germain.
Madrid’s season is hanging by a thread with the La Liga title out of their reach and their exit from the Copa del Rey to Leganes.
A Champions League success is the only chance of a trophy now for the Santiago Bernabeu outfit, however, they are deemed as underdogs against Unai Emery’s free-scoring PSG side.
With stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale all under performing – Perez has already began looking at alternative options ahead of this summer.
Ronaldo, has been linked with a return to Manchester United, whilst Benzema is linked to Arsenal and Bale with a move back to English football.
The players said to be on Perez’ shortlist are Mbappe, former Barcelona forward Neymar and one other.
With Mbappe’s failed move said to be reignited, constant reports linking Neymar with a sensational move to the Bernabeu continue.
Other potential options feature Harry Kane, who has been impressing for Tottenham Hotspur and it is thought links between the English club and Madrid are good.
However, all talk has now been halted by Perez until after the game with PSG, with reports claiming everyone at the club is now fully focused on beating the French side.
