Barcelona face a transfer battle with AC Milan for the services of Arthur, according to Calciomercato.

After strengthening their side with Philippe Coutinho and Yerry Mina over the January transfer window, it seems the Catalan club are still actively searching to improve their options.

The likes of Rafinha and Arda Turan have been sold, whilst it is expected that Aleix Vidal and Gerard Deulofeu will be next out of the Camp Nou door on a permanent basis this summer.

Coutinho and Mina’s arrivals have given Barca fans plenty of optimism after a number of failed signings over the years, whilst talk of Antoine Griezmann joining the club in the summer is also wetting the lips of many.

One player for certain – Barca have been exploring, is Gremio’s Arthur and Mundo Deportivo reported that a deal is close to being agreed by both clubs.

The report earlier this week went on to add that whilst a fee is not 100% agreed; Barca feel they can sign the player for £25m and have included the chance for the Brazilian side to potentially keep him on loan until January 2019.

However, claims that both Paris Saint Germain and Monaco have shown interest, are now backed by claims that AC Milan want the midfielder to join their squad ahead of a Champions League push.

Arthur’s potential arrival at the Camp Nou could also see the likes of Andre Gomes move on, whilst Denis Suarez’s playing time has become less and less.
