Athletic Club boss Jose Luis Ziganda has accepted the criticism he has received after a stuttering season so far, which sees the Basque club sit in 13th place.
The home side begin the weekend just above the relegation places but could move into the top half with a win at San Mames before the rest of the sides play later this weekend. Las Palmas are now four clear of bottom of the table Malaga following their win last week and are now just three points from safety albeit with the worst goal difference in the league of -33.
The meeting between the two sides earlier in the season saw Las Palmas win their first home game of the season and just their second of the campaign thanks to a Loic Remy goal three minutes from time.
And, Ziganda has discussed with reporters, his side’s chances of getting a win against Paco Jemez’s side, aswell as the critique he has received after a run of poor results.
“I accept the criticism I have received, when you win it is all very well and the results help. But you can’t go three or four games without winning. We must try and find solutions.”
The hosts will be without Mikel Balenziaga and Iker Muniain through injury with Mikel Vesga, Xabier Etxeita, Kike Sola and Sabin Merino not in the squad.
Las Palmas have no injury worries but Momo, Javi Castellano, David Garcia, Vicente Gomez, David Simon and new signing Emmanuel Emenike are all out of the squad for the game.
