Two of the surprise sides in La Liga this season, Leganes and Eibar, meet at the Butarque on Saturday evening.
Leganes currently sit in 12th place but are just four points off Sevilla in sixth whereas Eibar are just one point behind Los Nervionenses in seventh.
Both sides of course set out this season with the aim of staying in Spain’s top flight but now, Europe is a serious possibility.
Leganes have conceded just 21 goals in 21 games, the same as Madrid neighbours Real and Getafe, with only first and second placed Barcelona and Atletico Madrid having let in fewer.
The earlier meeting this season at the Ipurua saw Eibar win 1-0 thanks to a second half header from Alex Galvez, who is now on loan at Las Palmas but if Leganes can beat Los Armeros on Saturday they will overtake them, at least for a short period.
The hosts head into this clash on the back of their Copa del Rey semi final exit at the hands of Sevilla but with their heads held high after creating history by reaching the last four in the first place, their last game in La Liga was a 0-0 draw at Getafe.
Eibar on the other hand will be full of confidence heading to Madrid after last week’s 5-1 humbling of the Copa del Rey finalists at the Ipurua.
Mauro Dos Santos and Alexander Szymanowski remain out for Lega with young Saudi player Yahia Al-Shehri not yet ready to step into the first team according to Asier Garitano.
Eibar remain without long term absentees Pedro Leon and Fran Rico as well as Paulo Oliveira and Sergi Enrich. New signing Vukasin Jovanovic and goalkeeper Yoel Rodriguez are both left out of the squad for the trip.
Leganes (4-2-3-1): Cuellar; Tito, Mantovani, Munoz, Garcia; Perez, Gumbau; Naranjo, Gabriel, Omar; Guerrero
Eibar (4-4-2): Dmitrovic; Pena, Ramis, Arbilla, Angel; Orellana, Diop, Garcia, Inui; Charles, Kike
