Leganes 0-1 Eibar: Ramis’ 94th minute winner enough in close game

Ivan Ramis scored in the 94th minute to seal all three points for Eibar, beating Leganes 1-0 on Saturday.

Not the result everyone expected, or was it – as Eibar secured an impressive three points against in-form Leganes.

It has been a month to remember for Asier Garitano’s side, having beaten Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey, before eventually being knocked out by Sevilla in the semi-final last week.

The expecting Estadio Butarque was in good voice for Saturday evening’s game, but it was silenced in the final seconds by defender Ivan Ramis, who rose above everyone to head the winner for the visitors.

Neither side had clear cut chances during the game, with Eibar causing more problems, however, it was Dimitris Siovas’ red card which turned the game and saw the visitors put on more pressure.

Ivan Cuellar did everything he could to halt an onslaught of crosses into the box from Los Armeros, but he could not deny Ramis late on.

The results sees both side maintain their mid-table status, with both impressing and ending the opinion – both could be in a relegation fight.

Leganes face Girona next week looking to bounce back, whilst Eibar host league leaders, Barcelona
