Gerard Moreno’s strike against Celta Vigo for Espanyol is our Goal of the Week for Round 23 in La Liga.
Despite dominating the game, home side Celta failed to see put the match and allowed the visitors to get themselves an impressive point.
Gomez, who almost left the Galician club for China in January; has been in superb form this season and his leveller following Leo Baptistao’s opener proved vital for the home side.
Gomez was at the centre of everything good – Celta did during the game, and he gave them the lead 10 minutes from full-time after pouncing on a loose ball inside the six yard box.
The home side failed to hold on to their lead, however, as Gerard Moreno punished them with a superb effort late on.
Moreno has been in superb form this season, having netted an impressive 13 goals in all competitions, with ten of those coming in the league.
Linked with a move to Villarreal back in January, the talented Spaniard is likely to gain further interest from a number of clubs as we approach the summer transfer window.
Having impressed this season, Moreno is now also being tipped for a place in Julen Lopetegui’s Spanish national squad for the World Cup in Russia this summer.
