Las Palmas are discussing a deal with former Rayo Vallecano midfielder Roberto Trashorras, according to reports.
The 36-year-old ended his seven year spell with the Segunda side last summer after losing his starting place and he has been unable to find a new club.
Having seen former boss Paco Jemez take over at the Gran Canarian side, Trashorras has been training on the Island in the hope of a potential deal.
And, it is understood, that Jonathan Viera’s pending departure to China will see the veteran be handed a short term contract.
The midfielder spent four seasons working with Jemez, and he is expected to be signed later this week in time for the weekend’s action.
Viera is set to join Chinese Super League club Beijing Guoan after two weeks of negotiations.
The 28-year-old Gran Canarian is currently enjoying his second stint with the club, but his form has seen him linked with a move away from the club, prompting interest from a number of English sides in the process, such as Everton.
A move now is expected, leaving Las Palmas fans questioning their sides ambitions after losing a number of stars in the last 12 months, which include Kevin Prince Boateng, Roque Mesa and most recently, Loic Remy.
