Triple injury boost for Sevilla who face Manchester United tonight

Ahead of tonight’s Champions League game at the Sanchez Pizjuán, Sevilla have announced their 19-man squad to take on Manchester United.

Ever Banega and former Manchester City winger Nolito will return after injuries, leaving manager Vincenzo Montella with a wealth of options.

The 29-year old midfielder has missed the previous two games against Girona and Las Palmas after suffering a hamstring injury in the win against Leganes in the Copa Del Rey. Since returning from an unsuccessful spell in Italy with Inter Milan, Banega has been influential for the Andalusian side.

Nolito has had a mixed return to Spain, in and out of the side but has been out of action since the 5-1 defeat to Eibar earlier this month due to a muscle injury. The Spanish winger’s previous experiences playing against the English side could help if they are to overcome them.

The Italian boss also confirmed that Joaquin Correa would also be available to face United after passing a fitness test after injuring his hamstring on Saturday which had the winger’s availability to face the Red Devils under question.

“Correa is fine. He wasn’t allowed to finish training yesterday because we wanted to save him. Physically he is fine and can play tomorrow.”

The triple injury boost for Sevilla will allow Montella do use all his attacking prowess at his disposal against United with Wissam Ben Yedder, Luis Muriel and Pablo Sarabia all expected to start.

Johannes Geis and Miguel Layun have been left out to make space for the returning duo; Layun is cup-tied having played in the group stages for Porto.

Despite Manchester United appearing to be favourites to progress, Sevilla are set to be at full strength as they welcome the Red Devils to Seville.
