The visitors were without some key figures going into this game and looked set to pay for it when they conceded within the first six minutes. Los Blancos found a way, however, Lucas Vazquez equalizing five minutes after before Casemiro finishing a brilliant team goal.
The Brazilian combined with Karim Benzema then Lucas Vazquez who played the midfielder in the clear to slot home at the near post.
Los Blancos continued to have most of the possession, but, couldn’t create the killer goal. Leganes began to threaten as the second half drifted on, the best chance required Kiko Castilla to knock away a shot for a corner after the Leganes attacker had been played in one on one.
The home side continued to test Real, despite Zidane bringing on Gareth Bale and Marcos Llorente late to on to provide some much needed energy for his side.
