Cadiz took full advantage on their home soil in the first leg of the Segunda promotion play-off semi final first leg against Tenerife, winning 1-0.
After seeing Huesca and Getafe draw 2-2 on Wednesday evening, all eyes focused on Cadiz and Tenerife at Estadio Ramon de Carranza and the game did not disappoint.
The home side produced a carnival atmosphere to welcome their opponents, who failed to test home keeper Alberto Cifuentes during the 90 minutes.
The visitors will be hoping they can produce a better performance in the second leg and manager Jose Marti will be calling on his strikers to do such a job.
With the away side failing to trouble Cadiz, the home side took advantage and took the lead through Aketxe just after the hour mark.
The game ended at 1-0 giving Alvaro’s side a slender advantage going to Tenerife.
