Fans View: Deportivo’s official fan club expecting whistles at Riazor

Our first ‘Fans View’ series speaks to Deportivo La Coruna’s official fan club,, who are expecting whistles at the Riazor on Friday evening if Clarence Seedorf’s side struggle in the first half.

Nine games without a win and two under the guidance of the Dutch coach – has seen Depor struggling to keep pace with the relegation pack, sitting three points off safety.

Performances have been better under the former AC Milan midfielder, having lost narrowly by one goal to Real Betis and Alaves in their last two games.

However, the club’s fans are remaining indifferent in their hopes of survival. We spoke with, an official supporters club of the Galician side prior to Friday’s game.

“Between hope and indifference. That is how the fans are expecting the game. We hope to finally see the team standing up, but indifference comes as many others already gave up after so many frustrations. We expect whistles if the team struggles mid-way through the first half.”

Seedorf’s previous managerial stints came with Milan and Chinese side Shenzhen, but the Dutchman failed to be successful at either club, having a 50% win rate at the Italian club, before a miserable spell in Asia, where he lost six of his four games.

So far, two games, two defeats and no goals scored for Depor – has left fans doubtful but willing to giving him a chance in charge.

“He is changing things, fro the hours of the training to the mentality of the team. Pepe Mel and Parralo training at the same hour and the same routine, but Seedorf has changed the hours to the afternoon and has changed the way the players train.

“Fans are giving him a chance, for now……….”
