Neymar could miss World Cup after surgeryMarch 1, 2018
Neymar has been ruled out for three months ahead of surgery on his foot, whilst reports claim he could miss the World Cup this summer.
The 25-year-old former Barcelona player was stretchered off in the 3-0 win over Marseille on Sunday evening, having sustained a metatarsal fracture and sprained ankle.
Globo Esporte were first to report on Tuesday morning that the Brazilian international would miss two months of football, threatening his participation in PSG’s Ligue 1 and Champions League campaigns, plus his country’s preparations for the World Cup in Russia this summer.
The Parisian club confirmed on Monday that Neymar had suffered a sprain to his right ankle and a fissure to his fifth metatarsal, but they did not confirm the length of unavailability.

However, it is now confirmed that he will return to Brazil to undergo surgery, seeing him ruled out of the Madrid game and now by Dr. Rodrigo Lasmar, who stated the recovery time is three months.
Neymar has been in scintillating form for PSG this season, scoring 29 goals in 30 games since moving from Barcelona in a €222m deal last summer.
Madrid won the first leg against Unai Emery’s side 3-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu and the Spanish side have found their domestic form since, beating Alaves 4-0 at the weekend, which saw Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo all score.
