During Sunday’s 2-0 win over Real Betis Valencia had lost forward Santi Mina through injury and there are growing concerns over his time out.
The Galician forward was taken off after just thirty minutes with a suspected hamstring injury, he is to have medical examinations today to learn the extent of his injury, the club fear that he will be out for a lengthy amount of time.
Mina who is currently top goalscorer for Los Che’s has been in impressive form this season despite only starting half of his games this season, he had been in good form recently scoring three goals in his last five games before his injury.
He is also part of the trio including Simone Zaza and Rodrigo Moreno in getting into double figures which is the first team that has happened at Valencia since the 1995-96 season.
Valencia who have been in impressive form this season after finishing 12th last year, this year however they sit in fourth on the brink of Champions League qualification for next season.
Up next for Valencia is a tough trip to fifth place Sevilla and without Santi Mina the task is a lot harder, Marcelino side are in the better form than Valencia but no game is ever easy La Liga and with eleven games left all games will be important if they want to get into the Champions League.
