Real Betis have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Takashi Inui from Eibar this summer on a free transfer.
The 29-year-old midfielder has been impressing for the Basque club since arriving from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2015, but he remains keen to see his current deal expire in June and make a move elsewhere.
Informa Betis are amongst those leading the reports now claiming that such a move has been agreed to Betis, with Quique Setien a big admirer of the Japanese international.
The report goes on to say that both parties have spoken and a deal has now been verbally agreed, having rejected a late deal from Eibar.
The former J-League star will provide Setien with another option in his midfield area, having already signed the likes of Javi Garcia, Victor Camarasa, Andres Guardado and Ryad Boudebouz.
Inui has featured in 87 games for Jose Luis Mendilibar’s side and has been a growing part of their recent success, thus leaving the club in desperate need to find a replacement.
Prior to his stint in Spanish football, Inui played in the Bundesliga for Frankfurt and VFL Bochum, following development in his homeland where he played J-League football with Yokohama Marinos and Cerezo Osaka.
