Valencia striker Simone Zaza could be set to leave the club after revealing his frustrations at not playing regularly of late.
The former Juventus goal-scorer started the season in superb form for Los Che, guiding them to an unbeaten league start, which ended in December.
However, despite scoring 11 league goals – Zaza has found playing time hard to come by in recent weeks, settling for a place on the bench behind new signing Luciano Vietto, who arrived from Atletico Madrid in the January transfer window.
Netting against Real Betis at the weekend from the bench, the Italian international was cited as telling Cadena COPE: “I was playing every match as a starter but I am not any longer, so I must have done something wrong.”
That comment has now led to reports claiming he could leave the Mestalla this coming summer with Valencia keen to recoup some funds.
Atletico Madrid are said to be interested, selecting Zaza as a potential replacement for Fernando Torres, who could leave the club.
Zaza and has partner have struggled in recent times to settle, having spent time with English club West Ham United, where they disliked London, whilst spells in his home nation have also been indifferent.
