Espanyol keeper Pau Lopez will join Real Betis this summer on a free transfer, according to reports.
The Andalusian side are in full preparation for next season and have already begun negotiating deals for a number of key transfer targets, including Eibar’s Takashi Inui, who is said to have agreed terms.
And, it is now understood that Lopez, who has failed to get past Diego Lopez at the RCDE stadium this season, will arrive to replace Antonio Adan.
Betis see Lopez as a direct replacement for Adan, who is out of contract in 2019, whilst back up keeper Dani Gimenez is set to leave the club summer when his current deal expires.
Having returned from his loan spell with Spurs last summer, where he failed to make a single Premier League appearance and did not agree a permanent move to remain in England, Lopez has been frustrated with playing time this season.
Talks had begun between Betis and Lopez’ representatives weeks previous, but it is now claimed in Spanish press that a deal until 2023 has been agreed by all parties.
Lopez’s departure from Espanyol would leave Flores with Lopez as his number one and Roberto, who would be returning from a loan spell with relegation threatened Malaga.
