Spanish daily Marca have looked into the problems Neymar is suffering at Paris Saint Germain, saying the Brazilian was warned by a number of Barcelona players last summer.
Early on field conflicts with Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani, plus ever-increasing links of a move to Real Madrid have made Neymar’s first season at the Ligue 1 side, a little less than of an impact.
PSG officials spent big over last summer as they signed both Kylian Mbappe from AS Monaco and Neymar from Barca, but their arrivals did not help Unai Emery’s side move past Real Madrid, losing 5-2 on aggregate to be eliminated from the Champions League.
Marca have spent time analysing the situation, looking at comments made by a number of Barca players, who tried to convince the Brazilian international to remain at the Camp Nou.
Gerard Pique was one of those players who made comments, saying: “We will try to stay close to him so that he makes the right decision,” the centre-back said from the United States, where the Catalan club had their pre-season tour.
“He has to think about what the priority is for him. What does he want? More titles? More money?.”
Luis Suarez, Andres Iniesta and Lionel Messi also shared the same view, telling Neymar that a move to France would be a gamble.
A summer move to Real Madrid has been heavily claimed by Spanish press, although that does seem less likely, given that Neymar is now ruled out for the remainder of the season and in jeopardy of missing his country’s World Cup campaign in Russia.
