Getafe 0-1 Levante: Coke seals three point for struggling visitorsMarch 11, 2018
Coke scored the only goal of the game as Levante beat Getafe 1-0 on Saturday afternoon.
The Valencia based side needed nothing but a win after failing to win in their last 16 games and jubilation was met at the full time whistle after they secured all three points inside the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.
Paco Lopez in his first game in charge saw his players produce a superb battling performance, which saw Coke score the only goal of the game.
Elsewhere, Sevilla lost out to Valencia 2-0 in a game which consolidated Los Che’s grip on the Champions League places.
Spanish international Rodrigo has burst back into form and he opened the scoring just before the half hour mark after some fine work from Geoffrey Kondogbia.
The French midfielder played in the striker, who hammered home to silence the home crowd.
Sevilla did go close to levelling the game when Pablo Sarabia found space to direct a header towards goal, but Brazilian keeper Neto was in fine form to deny the winger.
Luis Muriel then had a snap shot but Neto proved to good and kept his side in front.
Rodrigo was keen to add a second but he saw his next effort saved well by Sergio Rico, who was showing the same qualities as his opposite number.
The Sevilla keeper was to be beaten again though as Kondogbia proved creator once more, playing in Rodrigo, who sprinted free and slotted past Rico.
The win saw Valencia extend their advantage over fifth-placed Sevilla to 11 points, while remaining just one behind Real Madrid.
