Youngster Loren Moron was on hand to help Real Betis push towards a European place, scoring twice as they beat Alaves 3-1 on Monday evening.
With the news last month that VAR will be introduced in La Liga, home side Alaves would have been hoping it had been introduced sooner after Betis made the most of the offside rule to seal all three points.
Young attacker Moron has been in superb form since breaking into the Betis first team and he opened the scoring, burying his effort between the keeper’s legs, despite the referee’s assistant calling for offside.
A reverse in the decision though saw Alaves concede and Betis were on their way to double their lead when Javi Garcia took advantage of a goal mouth scramble, before firing home, despite more offside calls from the home players.
Ruben Sobrino would gain something of note for the home side just after hour mark as the lively attacker slotted home.
However, Betis ensured all three points when Loren notched his second of the game and fifth in six games.
Quique Setien’s side now move to three points off the Europa League places, whilst Alaves sit 16th and 11 points above the relegation places.
