Barcelona hold an agreement with Atletico Madrid over the potential signing of Antoine Griezmann, according to reports.
Diario AS have reported from claims in Le 10 Sport that the Catalan club have agreed a deal for the French attacker, whose future at the Wanda Metropolitano has come under heavy press.
The 26-year-old has been in superb form this season, but constant links to the Camp Nou have been ever present in Spanish and French media, whilst Barca have freed up the number seven shirt, prompting further speculation.
Griezmann has recently seen his release clause at Atleti lower to €100m, which Barca are happy to pay, agreeing a deal in principle with the former Real Sociedad forward before the turn of the year.
Barca have spent big in recent transfer windows, having brought in the likes of Ousmane Dembele from Borussia Dortmund, Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool and most recently, Arthur from Gremio, who could join this coming summer.
Atleti captain Gabi touched on the speculation surrounding the club’s top scorer earlier this week, urging his team-mate to give his all for the remainder of the season.
“I understand not every player here will stay here forever and not everyone has the club in their hearts, but that is not a criticism,” Gabi told reporters. “All I want is for him to stay with us and keep playing with everything, to play for the shirt and to give his all.”
Atleti got back to winning ways as they brushed aside a lacklustre Celta Vigo to keep the gap to La Liga leaders Barca to eight points after goals from Griezmann, Vitolo and Angel Correa.
