Lionel Messi is urging Barcelona to bring back Neymar, who is dismayed with life at Paris Saint Germain.
Neymar has reportedly told players, coaches and even directors at FC Barcelona that he wants to return to his former club.
The Brazilian has not settled in Paris and with his team knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid this week, he is as unhappy as ever.
Mundo Deportivo say that the forward is hoping to secure a return to the Camp Nou not this summer, but in the summer of 2019, given that it would be impossible for Paris Saint-Germain to allow him to depart only a year after arriving.
He is believed to have told former team-mates that he was wrong in wanting to step out from Lionel Messi’s shadow and lacks the understanding he had with his former colleagues.
And, Messi is now reported to have told club officials to make the return happen, telling friends and team-mates that he would like to see the Brazilian back in the colours of Barca.
Cadena COPE report that this is causing problems for club president Josep Maria Bartomeu, who dealt with Neymar’s exit to PSG last summer.
In a poll on Mundo Deportivo’s website, Barcelona fans made their feelings clear with 69% of 5,000 voters saying they would not bring him back to Catalonia, compared to 31% of readers who would.
