Our friends over at @utdxtra discussed tonight’s game with Sevilla in the Champions League, saying they hoped Alexis Sanchez would provide the spark he has been lacking in recent games.
The tie is wide open after the first leg which ended 0-0 at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, but Sevilla’s defeat to Valencia at the weekend makes Jose Mourinho’s side the slight favourites.
Saturday’s win over Jurgen Klopp’s men came after a superb double from Marcus Rashford and it consolidated United’s grip on second place in the Premier League table.
As for Sevilla, they remain in the hunt for the Champions League places, but the defeat to Valencia now sees them sit 11 points behind.
Heading into the game, United fans are looking at Chilean Alexis, who is yet to show the form which he showed at Arsenal in previous times, whilst fans of the club are not thinking further than tonight’s game.
“I expect Mourinho to revert to a 4-3-3 with a midfield trio of Matic, Pogba and McTominay. Pogba is still touch and go tonight, but I expect him to play if fit, ” @utdxtra told us.
“Sevilla are no pushovers, they proved that in both games against Liverpool earlier in the Champions League campaign, scoring both home and away and holding the to a draw in each game.
“Rashford has hit a bit of form at the right time and Old Trafford are due a performance from Alexis Sanchez.
“Let’s hope the Chilean provides the spark for United tonight. Come on United.”
