Las Palmas boss Paco Jemez has said neither his side or Deportivo wanted a 1-1 draw on Saturday afternoon.
Saturday’s game between two sides that are in the relegation places was a must-win for both, but the game ended with a share of the points as neither side could find a winner in the second half.
Deportivo boss Clarence Seedorf is yet to win at the helm of the Galician club, but he will be hoping a point and a better performance that late will see his side push on.
Jemez has been critical of his side in recent weeks and he will be more aggrieved having taken an early lead at the Riazor and he said that the draw had not done his side any good.
“We have played a competitive match. Both sides went out in search of victory and the three points. I’m not happy with the final scoreline, but with our early goal and the chances we created we tried to get under the home fans’ skin but we couldn’t make it last,” he told reporters.
Former Barcelona play-maker Halilovic has been impressing in recent weeks and he opened the scoring for the visitors after just three minutes of play.
Depor grew into the game following some moans and groans from their own supporters and it was central defender Albentosa who was on hand to level the tie with just 22 minutes played.
The result leaves both sides in the relegation places, sitting 18th and 19th, whilst Malaga continue to sit rock bottom of the La Liga table.
