Three La Liga clubs (Villarreal, Sevilla and Real Betis are in the race to sign Norwegian youngster Sander Berge, according to various reports.
Belgian side Genk are struggling to keep hold of the young midfielder after seeing him make some impressive performances this season and gain interest from a number of European clubs.
Having arrived at the club in 2017 from Valerenga in a deal worth €2m, it is understood that potential suitors are being told they must pay anything up-to €18.5m for the talented youngster.
The 20-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Sevilla last summer, whilst Andalusian rivals Real Betis are also keen.
However, it is Villarreal boss Javi Calleja’s interest which is leading the current race to make a move as he looks to build a squad capable of pushing for a Champions League place next season.
Estadio Deportivo claim that the Yellow Submarine are willing to pay €15m for the midfielder; using some of the funds they will receive from the sale of Rodri to Atletico Madrid later this summer.
Sander Berge has represented his country at all levels from Under-15 up and he has now cemented his place in the senior squad, making three appearances.
