The Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan will host the first leg of Sevilla’s Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich on Tuesday evening.
19:45 BST, Tuesday 3rd April, Ramos-Sanchez Pizjuan (Seville, Spain), BT Sport
Vincenzo Montella’s side made history after knocking out Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United in the round of 16, reaching that stage of the competition for the first time in over 55 years.
Whilst the Andalusian side were better over two legs than the English side; facing German side Bayern Munich is an all-too different affair.
Bayern have been simply brilliant this season and they are desperate to add to their haul of five Champions League victories so far.
The Bundesliga champions showed exactly how much they wanted it when they beat Besiktas 8-1 in the previous round, and they will be hoping a similar performance is on the cards.
Sevilla’s impressive home form, however, could halt that, having seen Montella’s side lose just two of their last 12 Champions League games at home.
Sevilla will be without Ever Banega for the tie, seeing the Argentine suspended for a build up of yellow cards, but his absence is the only one for the home side.
Bayern are still without Manuel Neuer, who remains injured but other than the German stopper – they are relatively concern free.
Sevilla: Rico, Mercardo, Kjaer, Lenglet, Escudero, N’Zonzi, Vazquez, Sarabia, Correa, Muriel, Ben Yedder
Bayern: Ulreich, Kimmich, Hummels, Boateng, Alaba, Thiago, Martinez, Muller, Robben, James Rodriguez, Lewandowski
Prediction: Sevilla 1-2 Bayern Munich
Whilst Sevilla will make it hard for the German side, we expect Bayern to break the home side’s impressive form at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan and come away with two away goals.
