Munir El Haddadi was amongst the goals as Deportivo Alaves beat Getafe 2-0 on Saturday afternoon bringing their four game win-less streak to an abrupt end.
With LaLiga football all but confirmed, Alaves head coach Abelardo Fernandez will be pleased his side have extended their lead over 18th place Deportivo La Coruna to 12 points.
While Getafe may still have hopes of a top-half finish, they will be dismayed with the way they went behind.
Alaves had the better chances in the opening exchanges however it took three minutes into the second-half for the game to see its first goal.
Munir turned provider from a free-kick in the 48th minute as his whipped delivery found Victor Leguardia for the opener.
The striker doubled their lead on 75 minutes when the 22-year-old met John Guidetti’s cross with a powerful headed finish.
Getafe were offered a consolation when Alaves centre-back Ruben Duarte committed a foul for a penalty in the dying moments yet Vitorino Antunes failed to capitalise and missed the target.
