Barcelona captain Andres Iniesta faces a decision on which Chinese Super League side to sign for this summer, between Chongqing and Tianjin.
The Catalan club’s captain has been linked with an exit from the Camp Nou this season and it is now being reported that he will call time on his successful career with the club in June.
Various reports claimed that a three year deal with Guanjian has been agreed and that he will get paid 37m euros for his stint in Asia, but a second offer from Chongqing has since followed.
Iniesta did inform reporters following the Champions League defeat to Roma two weeks back that he would now be considering his future, but further reports seem to confirm that this will be his last with Barca.
The midfielder, who will announce his decision following the Copa del Rey final on Saturday evening against Sevilla at Wanda Metropolitano – has already spent time in Chongqing, when he visited in June 2017, giving a football masterclass to children.
He also met the president of the club as part of a sponsorship deal with Nissan, leaving many to predict that Chongqing are now in pole position to sign the World Cup winner.
