Athletic Club will host a Levante side at San Mames on Monday evening who are looking to ensure their La Liga safety.
Date: Monday, 23 April 2018 / Kick-Off at 20:00 UK / Venue: San Mames
The home side drew last time out in La Liga with Real Madrid, seeing themselves improve massively from their inconsistent season so far – and coach Kuko Ziganda will be hoping his side can finish the campaign in that same vein.
Ziganda’s job is far from safe at the San Mames and it is looking almost certain that he will be replaced come the summer – but sitting down in 13th – the Basque club will be wanting to improve.
Levante, took a massive step towards safety in mid-week, beating Malaga and they will be hoping to further push that gap between themselves and Deportivo La Coruna, who are they only team in the bottom three who can still survive the drop.
Aritz Aduriz is carrying a knock still so Inaki Williams should start up front again. Iker Muniain is likely to be used off the bench following his return from a long lay-off.
Erick Cabaco has a knee problem so Sergio Postigo should start at centre-back. Giampaolo Pazzini is an injury doubt so in-form Emmanuel Boateng should start in attack.
Athletic: Kepa, De Marcos, Nunez, Martinez, Balenziaga, Jose, Iturraspe, Cordoba, Garcia, Susaeta, Williams
Levante: Olazabal, Lopez, Cabaco, Pier, Coke, Jason, Lerma, Campana, Morales, Marti, Boateng
Whilst Levante will do everything they can to get a victory, tonight will go in the way of the home side. 2-0
