Barcelona will hold a meeting on Tuesday morning to discuss the future of B-team boss Gerard Lopez after a string of poor results.
Five defeats, including the 3-2 loss at the hands of Rayo Vallecano at the weekend – sees Barca B sit 20th in the league table and in desperate need of an improvement.
Barca officials are now set to decide on Gerard’s future, with some reports claiming Juvenil A coach Francisco Javier Garcia Pimienta could be his replacement.
Gerard has been in charge of Barca’s second string since 2015, guiding them back to the Segunda from Segunda B in his first season.
Calls at one point had been made for him to be a future first team manager, but that thought process has now changed dramatically after the B teams free fall of late.
Pimienta guided the younger side to UEFA Youth League glory on Monday evening, beating English side Chelsea and his success has seen a number of calls made for him to take over at the next level.
The B side, who sit in the relegation places – face Almeria on Saturday in desperate need of three points, whilst they have upcoming games against Reus, Sporting, Albacete, Cadiz and Real Zaragoza.
A brace from Venezuelan striker Alejandro Marquez and one from Abel Ruiz gave the Juvenil A side glory on Monday evening in Nyon.
