John Guidetti will play for Alaves next season, seeing their La Liga safety trigger a clause in his loan deal from Celta Vigo.
The Swedish striker arrived at the Basque club in January on a loan deal with Celta officials included a special clause that ensures they receive payment once Alaves had sealed their La Liga safety.
The weekend win over Las Palmas for Abelardo’s side saw them ensure their league status – pushing further away from Deportivo, who are the only side remaining who cant be relegated from the bottom three – having seen both Malaga and Las Palmas drop down to La Liga 123.
Guidetti, who has been keen to explore a permanent move to the club – spoke earlier this week about his desire and talks are now said to have been completed with the Swede joining at his club.
The striker will now find a permanent home in the Basque region, before taking a break for the summer.
Guidetti, who arrived in Spanish football back in 2015 from English club Manchester City – scored 22 goals in 95 games at the Balaidos – before leaving in January.
He has two goals in 14 appearances for Alaves since joining in January, but his impression on the pitch has been felt a lot more than just goals.
