Carlos Bacca scored a hat-trick as Villarreal thumped Celta Vigo 4-1 to ensure their Europa League place for next season.
It took the Colombian just 12 minutes to open the scoring after a superb pass found him inside the box and he fired home his first of the game.
Pione Sisto would then level for the visitors and it looked likely that they would come out fighting following that early goal from the former AC Milan striker.
However, Bacca notched his second – going one-on-one with Sergio Alvarez, before sliding the ball into the roof of the net.
His third came just three minutes later with the visitors looking troubled in defence; a fine pass from Dani Raba ensured a treble for the Colombia international, whose form this season has played a large part in Javi Calleja’s success.
Samu Castillejo then wanted in on the act as he scored in injury time to seal a superb win for the home side and one the home fans have been long wanting.
Victory leaves the Yellow Submarine sitting in sixth place as they look to secure Europa League qualification in the final few games, whilst Celta Vigo have struggled to keep pace with the Europe chasing pack and will settle for a mid-table finish.
