Title done for Barcelona thanks to Messi treble
Lionel Messi was at his sublime best at the Riazor as his goals matched with a Philippe Coutinho strike, not only ensured the league title but also relegation for their opponents.
A superb move which saw Ousmane Dembele find Coutinho, allowed the Brazilian to send a delicious effort into the top left hand corner of the goal and notch his third league goal of the season.
Messi was then on hand to make it 2-0 after a wonderful outside of the boot pass from Luis Suarez found the Argentine, who hammered home his effort at the near post.
Clarence Seedorf has improved Deportivo and his side rallied back in the second half to level the game thanks to goals from Lucas Perez and Emre Colak.
Hopes were high inside the Riazor, but Messi not to be outdone – struck twice in the final ten minutes to seal the win and the title for the Catalan side.
Barca secured their 25th title with the win, having been unbeaten up until now in league games.
