Getafe welcome Atletico Madrid to the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez in the penultimate week of the league season on Saturday evening; with a win over their neighbours keeping the side in contention of a Europa League spot.
El Geta currently sit in eighth position in La Liga, two points behind Sevilla. Should Atleti and Real both win their respective Europa League and Champions League finals, this gives the league an additional spot in next season’s qualifying for the Europa League, with the team in seventh place joining the sides who finish in fifth and sixth. They are currently on an impressive run of form, collecting 13 of the last 15 points available, including wins over Eibar, Valencia and Espanyol.
Atleti go into the match still in second place, however are sitting just three points ahead of Real Madrid, who have a greater goal difference. Los Colchoneros have bagged seven of the last 15 points available in the league, collecting wins over Levante and Alaves as well as suffering disappointing defeats over Espanyol and Real Sociedad.
José Bordalás will be without five players for the match, with Markel Bergara (foot), Leandro Cabrera (knee), Mathias Olivera (shoulder), Mauro Arambarri (metatarsal) and Damian Suarez (ankle) all unavailable. Mathieu Flamini is also a doubt.
Vitolo is set to be the only player unavailable for Diego Simeone, with the winger out with a hamstring injury. With the Europa League final against Marseille on Wednesday, Simeone may be looking to rest a few players for the midweek clash in Lyon.
