Paco Alcacer departs for Valencia return after double celebrationsMay 23, 2018
Paco Alcacer will move back to Valencia this summer after celebrating the double with Barcelona, Spanish reports claim.
The 24-year-old Spaniard joined the Catalan club in 2016 on a five-year contract and despite playing limited games, played an important part in their double success this season, scoring a total of 15 goals in his 50 appearances since joining.
Having struggled for game time behind the likes of Luis Suarez, Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho – the striker has now decided on a return to former club Valencia.
Onda Cero claim that the striker has already began moving his family back to the city, where they will reside in his former home.
His arrival at Los Che could pave way for Rodrigo to join Atletico Madrid after claims in Diario AS saw the Spanish international linked with a move to the Wanda Metropolitano.
Despite Alcacer’s lack of playing time at the Camp Nou – boss Ernesto Valverde may opt to look for a replacement, having utilised the Spaniard in the Copa del Rey and in games where Suarez has been rested.
Alcacer, who missed out on a World Cup place this month – scored 42 times in 125 appearances for Valencia before his move to the league winners and his arrival is expected to delight the club’s fans.
