Goncalo Guedes has told Paris Saint Germain that he would like to join Valencia this summer.
The Portugal international has been one of Valencia’s standout performers this season and helped them gain Champions League qualification, finishing fourth behind Real Madrid in third, runners up Atletico Madrid and league leaders Barcelona.
Having signed for Los Che on a loan deal, Guedes has been linked with a permanent move to the Mestalla but problems over a transfer fee have halted such a deal commencing thus far.
PSG officials are keen to allow the winger to leave this summer as they look to improve their finances ahead of a Financial Fairplay assessment.
Super Deporte claim that Guedes, 21, has now requested to leave the club for Valencia and asked his representatives to begin talks.
Guedes’ potential permanent deal will be superb news to Valencia as they look to continue their impressive form next season and it could follow an extra boost after reports surfaced that Geoffrey Kondogbia’s permanent move from Inter Milan is all-but done and dusted.
The French midfielder has arguably been Valencia’s best player this season and negotiations are said to have gone well with the Italian club.
An announcement is expected to follow in the coming weeks.
