La Liga will investigate claims that a number of abnormal bets were made ahead of Sunday’s La Liga 123 game between promoted Huesca and Gimnastic.
Nastic were on the verge of relegation before the game but a 1-0 win over Huesca, who were promoted just days before has caused a stir in the Spanish second tier.
A series of high stage bets are said to have been made in Ukraine before the game, arousing suspicion amongst those in the higher offices of the Spanish Football Federation.
El Confidential are amongst those reporting the news, which claims thousands of euros were placed on the score being level at half time, but also for the visitors to go and win 1-0.
Both of those forecasts happened and that has seen bookmakers be forced to pay out an unusual amount of money since the game.
Players from both teams are now set to be questioned, having told reporters that their was no reason for La Liga officials to suspect them any wrong doing.
Nastic moved away from the drop-zone with the three points, however, the final round in Liga 123 will now prove pivotal.
In a further twist as reported by Football Espana, Huesca posted an image on their official Instagram account of the score being 2-0 at half time – causing more confusion around the game.
