Barcelona officials will not budge on their valuation of Brazilian Rafinha as Inter Milan remain interested in signing the midfielder.
On-loan from Barcelona since January, Rafinha played well with the Nerazzuri scoring three goals and providing two assists in seventeen appearances.
In the agreement of the loan, a €35 million clause was placed that made the move permanent if Inter qualified for the Champions League and that is what the Serie A side managed to do.
Inter were hoping to negotiate a lower fee with Barca but that appears to be a non-starter as the Catalan club are unlikely to budge from the original offer, especially considering that their plan during the summer will be raising up to €100 million in transfer sales.
His last few seasons at Barcelona were filled with injuries. However, the Brazilian seems to have found a consistent form during his time in Italy.
Having missed out on Joao Cancelo, who was on loan from Valencia – Inter will now face a tough decision on whether or not to splash the cash on the midfielder, whose brother, Thiago, plays for Bayern Munich.
Dependent on Barca’s stance, Inter may well look to offload some of their current midfield to make funds for the signing of Rafinha.
